MicroSTEM for Middle Schools

MicroSTEM brings science, technology, engineering and math learning to life for middle schoolers. Schools choose a STEM theme, and students develop an industry that immerses them in real-world STEM concepts and careers.

For example, two West Virginia schools turned their chosen themes into thriving industries. Logan Middle School’s agriculture theme led to a hydroponic gardening industry, while Man Middle School’s environment theme sparked a tourism industry celebrating the state’s natural beauty.

Integrated into daily learning, MicroSTEM reinforces key academic concepts. MSI collaborates with schools to identify learning gaps, ensuring students apply essential skills through hands-on jobs and ventures.

Society In Action

Society In Action (SIA) turns social studies into a hands-on experience. Through self-directed research, performances, journalism, and entrepreneurship, students bring history, civics, and geography to life—transforming learning into an interactive, student-driven journey.

Citizens In Action

Citizens In Action (CIA) transforms student leadership by making citizenship a lived experience, not just a lesson. More than a student council, CIA connects school and community through real-world self-governance.

The result? A stronger school climate, empowered student leaders, and a culture of shared responsibility that reduces conflict and fosters independence.
