MicroSociety is an experiential-learning model that empowers students to develop into leaders, entrepreneurs, creative forces, and confident citizens.
For one period a day, MicroSociety turns schools into thriving, authentic, collaborative communities where students learn academic and real-world skills by using them every day. It helps kids explore careers, discover where they fit in, and see the possibilities ahead.
Through both in-person and digital experiences—including the MicroSociety 2.0 platform, where students build websites, manage ventures, and engage in a fully digital economy—students immerse themselves in real-world learning that mirrors life beyond school.
MicroSociety activities make school relevant to kids. It fires up motivation, leverages interests and abilities, and builds self-worth, confidence, and grit.
MicroSociety 2.0: A Digital World of Learning
MicroSociety 2.0 brings the model to life online, giving students a dynamic digital platform to extend their society beyond the classroom. Young citizens design websites for their ventures, agencies, and nonprofits, participate in e-commerce, and navigate a complete online economy—earning digital currency for their work, using debit cards to shop, and managing their money through online banking and investment tools.
The platform allows students to see and interact with their entire society in one place, deepening their understanding of systems, relationships, and their own role in a functioning community. It’s real-world learning, powered by digital innovation.
