MicroSociety Inc. (MSI) is proud to partner with American Student Assistance® (ASA), a national nonprofit at the forefront of changing the way kids learn about careers and prepare for their futures, to ensure that low-income middle school students gain the career exposure and durable skills they need to thrive in an evolving workforce. With this new three-year initiative, funded by a $300,000 grant from ASA, MSI will transform its career-connected learning to include high-growth opportunities in technology, engineering, law, public service, and finance while also building the critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills employers say are essential for success.

The Aspen Heights Elementary School MicroSociety is entering full-swing after citizens and their elected government representatives all took oaths of good faith, and were ceremoniously sworn into office by the Honourable Judge Jim Mitchell on September 23. MicroSociety has been running for 15 years at the school, and Mitchell has been swearing its officials since the very beginning.

MicroSociety Inc. (MSI) is excited to announce that it has been awarded a generous grant from the Richard King Mellon Foundation to expand its innovative educational model to two new schools in the Pittsburgh area. This grant will support the implementation of the MicroSociety model, including its new digital platform, at Founders’ Hall Middle School in McKeesport and Urban Pathways K-5 College Charter School in downtown Pittsburgh.

The students at Instant Impact Global Preparatory Charter School in Natchez, Mississippi, have built a MicroSociety called “Smartland” and on Tuesday inaugurated its presidents, mayors, judge, police and peacekeepers.
